Frank Lampard admits that he is keen for Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori to sign new Chelsea deal but that the decision will not be left to him.
Both players have become regular starters for the Blues, earning plaudits from their head coach and beyond with their performances for the club.
Abraham has already notched eight Premier League goals and another in the Champions League, but Tomori has helped the Blues to three clean sheets in their last five matches.
Abraham's contract runs out in 2022, with Tomori's coming to an end a year earlier in the summer of 2021.
While they still have a bit of time left on the clock, Chelsea have been proactive in their attempt to tie down their younger players to new deals over the course of the season.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all signed bumper contracts with the west London club, and Lampard is hoping that the two other academy products will put pen to paper as well.
"Of course, I do [want them to stay]," Lampard said. "That goes slightly out of my remit when they are dealing with the club. The club know I love the players, I brought them into the team this season.
"They are doing particularly well but I leave those conversations to the club to discuss contracts but, of course, I want them to be here for a long time.
"That’s the conversation for me and the club I suppose. I made it clear that they are playing very well and I want them to stay."
