Frank Lampard is backing Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz to come good after being struck down by coronavirus.
The German international enjoyed an excellent start to the season for the Blues after joining from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer in a £71m deal.
However, he tested positive for Covid-19 at the start of November which meant he had to face a spell on the sidelines.
He returned for the 2-1 Champions League win over Rennes and has gone on to play three more times since that fixture.
Lampard, speaking ahead of Tuesday night's European game with Krasnodar at Stamford Bridge, has backed Havertz to shine for the side in the next few months.
And although the player had 'strong symptoms' of the virus, the manager says he is not concerned about the long-term effects it might have on the German.
"He is fitting in really well and he had really strong symptoms of COVID," said Lampard.
"Not all the players have had it like that and it took a while to come over that. Before the test his form was fantastic.
"I was delighted with the way he was playing and COVID cut that short.
"I have no worries about Kai, exactly the opposite. He is going to be a very big player for me and in the world.
"It can take a while for players to adapt to the Premier League, but I think he has done very well."
