Frank Lampard itching for next managerial role after revealing offers since Chelsea exit

It has been six months since Frank Lampard and Chelsea parted ways and the former Blues midfielder is now itching to get back into coaching.

Lampard was given his marching orders to a mixed reception after an inconsistent start to the season, despite receiving plenty of plaudits for a fourth-place finish in his opening term.

His ability to develop Chelsea's young stars, including Mason Mount and Reece James, has seen him linked to a number of jobs while out of work.

The 43-year-old was closely linked to vacancies at Crystal Palace and England Under-21s but has remained without a role and enjoyed spending time with his family, including newborn Frederick.

Now he's ready to return, however.

Speaking at McDonald's Fun Football initiative Lampard said: "I love being here, I love being at Wembley and working with, albeit 5-11-year-olds, it's the same thing, you get the same enjoyment out of trying to improve players.

"I loved doing that when I was coaching and managing at Derby and Chelsea.

"I've enjoyed family time, it's something I've neglected. Sport sometimes consumes you. You spend a lot of time on the road and working, particularly in management. It's not been the worst thing for me to be at home. I've had a new son and I've enjoyed that time.

"I'm ready, I'm itching. There's a few things in the summer that weren't quite right, so decided to not take, spend a bit more time at home and see what comes up."
