Frank Lampard hijacks Liverpool title celebrations by entering dressing room

Chelsea played their part in Liverpool’s Premier League title celebrations on Wednesday night.

The Blues travelled to Anfield knowing that a point would be enough to seal their place in the Champions League next season.

However, they were on the end of a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Reds, despite fighting back from 3-0 and 4-1 down to give fans hope of a positive result in the second half of the game.

After the match, Liverpool were presented the Premier League trophy for the first time in their history as the Reds were officially crowned as Premier League champions ahead of the final game of the season.

Unable to celebrate with the fans in the ground due to the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool fans have been sharing inside their celebrations on social media.

In a video posted on Instagram by Sadio Mane, Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard makes an appearance.

Before the trophy lift, Mane gave fans a glimpse inside the celebrations, when the Chelsea boss approached the Liverpool man, putting his arm around him before saying: “Well done, congratulations.”

Lampard then appeared to wait in order to congratulate other Reds’ players before they went back out onto the stage in order to be presented with the trophy.

Lampard himself could still be lifting silverware at the end of the season after leading the Blues to the FA Cup final, where they will take on Arsenal at Wembley on August 1.
