Frank Lampard handed fresh injury blow with key Chelsea attackers ruled out of Tottenham game

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic have already been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur as Chelsea's injury problems deepen.

Frank Lampard has also said that the leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham is considered a doubt after he failed a fitness test before tonight's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, while N'Golo Kante will be assessed on Tuesday having come off 12 minutes in with an abductor injury.

Having won just one of their past six league games, the Blues could finish this week out of the top four should they lose to Jose Mourinho's Spurs.

Their task is complicated further by that lengthening injury list.

Hudson-Odoi damaged a hamstring in training, while Pulisic has not played since the New Year's Day draw away to Brighton and Hove Albion having since suffered a setback to an upper leg injury.

Abraham injured an ankle late in last month's draw at home to Arsenal and has not been able to take a full part in training post-winter break.

He played through the pain in the 2-2 draw away to Leicester at the beginning of February but required a painkilling injection and was expected to recover following a week off.

However, Lampard had to pull him out of a couple of sessions last week and he did not pass a fitness test on Monday.

Lampard merely said "we'll see" when asked if he expects Abraham to be fit for Saturday, while Kante will have a scan on his right abductor on Tuesday morning.

"It doesn't look great," the head coach said of the France midfielder's injury.

Andreas Christensen was also taken off at half-time with a broken nose after he was accidentally elbowed by Anthony Martial.
