Frank Lampard gives worrying injury update on Tammy Abraham after Bournemouth draw

Frank Lampard has revealed that Tammy Abraham has flown to Barcelona to get 'more advice' on his ankle injury.

During the 2-2 draw against Arsenal back in January, the striker damaged his right ankle after sliding into the advertising boards.

The 22-year-old then played in the following match against Leicester City, however had to fight through the pain and admitted to taking painkillers.

Abraham, however, has failed to fully recover from the issue and missed the 2-2 Bournemouth draw, with Olivier Giroud starting his third game in a row.

Lampard has not been able to pinpoint when the England international might be back in action, with another busy period coming up.

And the Chelsea boss explained that Abraham has flown to Spain to see a specialist on the ankle.

"He went to Barcelona, to have a look at his ankle for some more advice on it. I've got no update for you.

"I'm hoping it's not a long-term injury but I can't tell you if he'll be ready for Tuesday or Saturday."
