Here are your Everton FC evening headlines for Monday, August 29.
Neal Maupay squad update
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Neal Maupay is expected to be in the squad for Tuesday’s trip to Leeds United.
The 26-year-old signed at Goodison Park on Friday for a fee in the region of £15million, putting pen to paper on a three-year contract. He was unfortunately signed too late to be eligible for Saturday’s draw at Brentford and instead trained at Finch Farm, having not featured for Graham Potter’s Seagulls at all so far this season.

Everton were once again blunt in attack at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday, failing to find the clinical edge needed to steal three points. But the former France under-21 international could be in line to alleviate the pressure and make his Toffees debut at Elland Road on Tuesday evening, with Lampard hinting he will be involved in some capacity.
Asked about Maupay’s potential involvement on Tuesday evening, Lampard said: "We will see where he is but he will be involved in the squad, I'm pretty sure."
Ross Barkley leaves Chelsea
Ross Barkley has left Chelsea by mutual consent and is now a free agent, the club have confirmed.
The 28-year–old had one year remaining on his £200,000-per-week contract at Stamford Bridge but has cut that short ‘by mutual consent’ in a bid to find a move away. He played just 179 minutes in the Premier League last season and has fallen down the pecking order considerably under Thomas Tuchel.
A Chelsea club statement read: "Barkley played a part in our run to the 2020 FA Cup final, scoring against both Liverpool and Leicester. He was brought on for the closing stages of the defeat to Arsenal, as he was in the Wembley showpiece this year, converting a penalty in the shoot-out loss to Liverpool. He did get a winner’s medal in that competition in 2018.
“Barkley’s final game was against Watford in May, and it was his late header that secured all three points in our last game of the season.
“We would like to thank Ross for his contribution to Chelsea and wish him well for the rest of his career."
