Frank Lampard has expressed Chelsea's desire to make sure that Callum Hudson-Odoi pens a new five-year deal with the Blues.
The 18-year-old winger has just one year left on his current contract with the club, however a fresh deal has been on the cards for several months.
Chelsea have recently tied down both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount to new five-year contracts, pursuing their ambition to pin down their academy players for the future.
However, Hudson-Odoi is yet to put pen-to-paper, with worries over a lack of playing time and the fear he might be sent out on loan.
But Lampard is hoping that the England international, who is currently recovering from an Achilles' tendon rupture, finally commits his future to the west London club.
"With Callum, of course I want him to sign and stay here," Lampad said in Japan. "I said it before I came, just generally, I said it when I first got here.
"He is a player that has come through the academy, a player that I think can be a big player for Chelsea and for England. We as a club want him to stay, for sure.

"I think he knows he has a manager here who wants to work with him to improve, and that takes hard work.
"Nothing is given, especially when you’re 18 years of age, but with all the attributes Callum has we want him to come through at Chelsea and be a big player for us now and in the future.
"There a few younger players now, some have signed, some I think will sign in the next month or in the early part of the season, and it’s important we move forward on that.
"I know as a club we are doing our best from top to bottom."
