Frank Lampard confirms double Chelsea injury boost ahead of Everton trip

Frank Lampard has delivered some important Chelsea injury news ahead of Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash against Everton.

The Blues head coach has had to contend with a number of key players being unavailable due to fitness so far this season.

He's been without the likes of N'Golo Kante, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger at some stage, while he's not been able to call upon Ruben Loftus-Cheek yet.

Lampard even lost top scorer Tammy Abraham to a hip injury against West Ham United last weekend - a game in which his side were beaten 1-0 at home with Olivier Giroud unable to make a difference.

The England international made a goalscoring return in midweek against Aston Villa - the team he was on loan at last season - but didn't see out the full 90 minutes.

Amid concerns that Abraham could miss the trip to Goodison Park, Lampard has revealed the latest injury news during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

And it's good news.

Abraham will be available as the Blues look to heap the misery on a Toffees side that will start the game in the bottom three following a 5-2 loss against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.

"Tammy Abraham is good, he hasn’t done much in between games," Lampard confirmed. "We will make sure of that in the morning but at the moment he is good."

However, the game does come too soon for Antonio Rudiger.

The German defender has been back in training for over a week now following surgery at the beginning of last month, but Lampard won't be considering him for action just yet.

"Rudiger had a really good week of training," Lampard added. "We had to get him match fitness type of training, which he has gone through this week. Tomorrow will come too soon, but he has had a great week and is on the verge."

One player who will be in the squad is Ross Barkley.

The midfielder has not featured for the Blues since October 19 when he limped off after 43 minutes against Newcastle United.

But he's in line to make his return against his former club.
