Frank Lampard calms Chelsea fans' fears over their one big issue after Valencia

Frank Lampard has claimed that he is not concerned by Chelsea's defensive displays after avoiding defeat to Valencia on Wednesday night.

The Spanish side missed some glorious chances to win the Champions League clash at the Mestalla, while also having a penalty saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Blues managed to come away with a point from the game, however it raised questions about Chelsea's defensive attributes, having already conceded 19 Premier League goals so far this season.

However, with West Ham tomorrow afternoon in the Premier League, Lampard insists that he is not concerned about his team's defensive abilities going forward.

"No, I am actually not [concerned], Lampard said. "I didn’t like the last 20 minutes against Valencia and that can happen. When you try to play a certain way like we are and you are trying to play, aggressive isn’t the word, but you try to play in a certain way.

"There will be games where you get tested. It happens a lot. I have seen a lot of games in the Champions League where big teams concede goals this season. Not just ourselves.

"When I look at our league form, I know where we are at in terms of statistically we have conceded more goals than we want. In terms of crosses into our box and teams getting into our box, it is not bad. Our conversion rate is not good.

"These are things I am fully aware of. I will be concerned about us as long as we are conceding goals. In the Premier League and Champions League, you are going to concede goals.

"We are playing against quality opposition. There is always a need for improvement and we always analyse and speak with the players but what’s important is points on the board. We continue and want improvement but we want more."
