Frank Lampard calls up wonderkids to Chelsea training as Kai Havertz transfer delay is explained

Chelsea have continued their recruitment drive by signing Thiago Silva as the Blues aim to challenge for the Premier League title during the 2020/21 season.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner's deals were agreed before the summer window began and now the likes of Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Silva have been acquired, though Sarr will be loaned out.

Kai Havertz is expected to eventually complete a move to Stamford Bridge and there is plenty of news and rumours floating around ahead of the new season next weekend.

What we noticed from Chelsea training

Whilst Chelsea are making head way off the field in the transfer market, Frank Lampard is also doing the business on the field.

Lampard has been busy in practice and there are some big things which have been noticed in training.

They include the contributions from the young guns, Lampard's influence and Willy Caballero's acrobatics.

Griezmann's praise for Chelsea target

Antoine Griezmann has told Chelsea who to sign after they eventually complete their move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.

The Blues are eager to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer and have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star shot-stopper Jan Oblak.

Griezmann explained a couple of years ago exactly why Chelsea should sign the 27-year-old.

"Jan is the best in the world at this time," he told Goal. "Not because he's my team-mate but because of the saves he makes, the points he wins us."

Havertz delay explained

Finally, we take a look at the delays surrounding the deal to sign Kai Havertz.

It has been reported that Chelsea have come to an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for a £90 million transfer.

But this is just the total potential fee, with only £72 million expected to be paid up front.

The delay surrounding the transfer at the moment is when exactly the additional £18 million add-ons will be paid by Chelsea, according to Bild, per the Daily Star.
