Frank Caliendo pretended to be Jon Gruden on draft day, tried to trade for No. 1 pick

The NFL draft is always a wild weekend. We have seen several crazy things happen hours before the draft, including gas masks and old tweets being exposed. However, this story from the 2019 NFL draft may just beat them all.

In a recent appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” comedian Frank Caliendo told a story from Thursday about how he pretended to be Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and called the Arizona Cardinals about the No. 1 pick.

Caliendo spoke to Cardinals general manager Steve Keim about making a trade for the top pick so the Raiders could secure Kyler Murray. Take a listen to the interview below:

Caliendo said Keim admitted he had to call Raiders GM Mike Mayock to make sure that it wasn’t a real trade offer from Gruden. The Raiders wound up making several trades over the weekend, but unfortunately, Caliendo wasn’t the reason any of those took place.
