Francesco Totti disagrees with Paul Pogba about ex-Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho amid Roma move

AS Roma legend Francesco Totti has already made his feelings clear on Jose Mourinho, if previous comments are anything to go by.

The Serie A club announced on Tuesday afternoon that Mourinho will become their new boss at the start of next season.

The decision from the former Tottenham head coach comes just over two weeks following his sacking from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which was amid the European Super League saga.

Totti, who spent the entirety of his 25-year professional career at Roma, stated in 2011 that he would love to work with Mourinho one day - with the Portuguese coach at Real Madrid at the time.

Unfortunately for Totti, it never happened, but he had plenty of good things to say about Mourinho.

"I would've liked to work with Mourinho," the Roma legend told Sky Sport Italia almost 10 years ago.

"I know several players who were in his teams and they all spoke very highly of him.

"As far as I know, Mou is a great person as well as a great coach. The Portuguese coach gives his all for the team."

Totti's words resonate with many players across world football, but Mourinho's abrasive style has not always been popular with some of the players he has managed.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is one of those who has publicly spoken out against Mourinho recently, and was not as nice with his words as Totti.

The World Cup winner, in an interview with Sky Sports, said: "What I have now with Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) is different, he wouldn't go against the players.

"He wouldn't go against the players. Maybe Ole wouldn't pick them, but it's not like he puts them on the side like they don't exist anymore. That's the difference between Mourinho and Ole.

"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don't know what happened.

"That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know. So, yeah."
