The French connection runs deep through the competitive lineup. Gentle Mates were drawn into Group C alongside Nongshim RedForce, G2 Esports, Xi Lai Gaming, while Team Vitality and Karmine Corp will play each other in Group B, along with NRG and Paper Rex.

The Esports Foundation has been building out the EWC 2026 ecosystem on several fronts. @JaxonMVP on X reported that the Foundation's docuseries Esports World Cup: Level Up returns for a second season on June 26, 2026, with all five episodes dropping simultaneously on Amazon Prime Video.
