France vs Scotland Six Nations clash POSTPONED as Covid outbreak forces rethink

Scotland's Six Nations clash with France has been postponed after an outbreak of Covid in the Bleus camp.

The hosts received a host of positive tests in the wake of the Ireland match but had called up reserve players to play in Paris.

On Thursday though a 14th positive test was discovered in the French camp, forcing the squad into isolation.

A statement said: "Following the RT-PCR tests carried out this Wednesday, February 24, and the appearance of a positive case within the squad of players, the FFR Medical Committee met this morning and decided to suspend training for today.

"The entire group is in isolation in accordance with health protocols. The FFR is in close contact with the Six Nations committee."

A few hours later it was confirmed that Sunday's match had been postponed, despite organisers giving it the go-ahead just 24 hours previously.

The move is likely to infuriate, Scotland who started their campaign with a stunning win over England.

They then suffered a one point loss to Wales and were due to face the unbeaten French in Paris.

But that match may not now be played until the Autumn, leaving Gregor Townsend and his squad in limbo.
