The hotel where the France team is staying before Tuesday night’s friendly against England is “working closely” with the authorities to ensure that the safety of the players and coaching staff is assured.

The France manager Didier Deschamps and his squad are due to arrive at the Hilton London Wembley on Monday before the fixture, with training scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium in the evening.

After a series of attacks in Paris on Friday night left more than 100 people dead, England and France fans will face the biggest security operation there has been since Wembley Stadium was rebuilt.

There were some doubts as to whether the match would go ahead but the French Football Federation insisted the game must take place as a show of solidarity.

A spokesperson for the hotel said it had wide-ranging plans to ensure France’s players receive full protection during their stay.

“The well being, safety and security of our guests are of paramount importance,” the spokesperson said. “While it is not appropriate to disclose specific details of the security measures at Hilton Wembley, we have comprehensive practices and procedures in place and are working closely with the relevant authorities.”

England supporters attending Tuesday’s friendly are being encouraged to join in with the French national anthem in a show of solidarity.
