France star Paul Pogba to miss Euros clash with Ireland

Paul Pogba is set to miss France’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying clash with Ireland in Dublin.

The Juventus midfielder has suffered yet another injury setback and reports in Italy suggest he will be sidelined for a month.

Pogba missed the World Cup in Qatar and has made just two appearances for Juve all season, since rejoining from Manchester United last summer.

Juventus confirmed that Pogba, 29, suffered ‘a low-grade injury to the adductor of his right thigh'.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri told DAZN: “Pogba was taking free kicks and felt a twinge in his adductor.

“He will have tests . . .we'll see him after the break for international duty.”

France begin their Euro 2024 mission with a home clash against the Netherlands on March 24 before facing Ireland at Aviva Stadium on March 27.

Stephen Kenny will name his Ireland squad for that crunch game, and the friendly with Latvia on March 22, this Thursday.

France boss Didier Deschamps names his squad on Friday but plans without a number of the players who reached the World Cup final.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Manchester United defender Raphael Varane have retired from international football.
