Two people have been killed and several others wounded in a knife attack in Lyon in France
Residents going out to shop while the city was in lockdown were targeted by the knifeman.
It's understood the attack took place at 11am local time in a commercial street in Romans-sur-Isere.
Police arrested the alleged attacker nearby. He has not been identified by prosecutors, but they said he had no documents and claimed to be Sudanese and to have been born in 1987.
According to reports in the French media one of the casualties is in a critical condition. It's not yet known if the attack was terrorism related.
