France v Morocco highlights: Favourites seal World Cup semi-final spot with win against Morocco

  • The World Cup favourites were frustrated in the first half and had a Kylian Mbappe penalty saved by Morocco goalkeeper Bono.
  • However, France maintained control of the match and took the lead in the 60th minute, with Mbappe atoning for his earlier miss by finding the corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
  • Ousmane Dembele doubled France’s lead in the 66th minute as he ran through before placing a shot that squirmed past Bono and into the bottom corner.
  • France will now play either Spain or Belgium in the semi-finals next Tuesday as they aim to reach a third straight World Cup final.
