The France Euro 2024 squad will want to add a third European Championship trophy to the cabinet with success in Germany this summer.
A dominant force in world football for the past decade, Les Bleus agonisingly missed out on retaining their World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022, with Lionel Messi's Argentina the victors on penalties in the final. Kylian Mbappe and Co. will want redemption this year, even if his former PSG team-mate isn't eligible to play at Euro 2024.
France haven't won the tournament since 2000, though, losing the Euro 2016 final as hosts and crashing out of Euro 2020 in the last 16 against Switzerland. This time around, the France Euro 2024 squad is stronger, more resillient and, naturally, classed among the favourites to go all the way.
It's not just the Mbappe show, either, as much as the forward will want to make things about himself. The defence is solid, with William Saliba, Jules Kounde and Lucas Hernandez blocking out attackers, while the Real Madrid midfield duo of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni could dominate the opposition. Plus, the ever-reliable Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann are still knocking about up top - write France off at your peril.
Their Euro 2024 group presents some tough tests, however, with the Netherlands, Austria and Poland all awaiting them in Germany.

France manager: Didier Deschamps
The third longest-serving manager of a European nation, Didier Deschamps has been in charge of France since the summer of 2012 – and it's fair to say he's not done a bad job...
In 2018, Les Bleus' 1998 World Cup-winning captain joined Germany's Franz Beckenbauer and Brazil's Mario Zagallo as a select group of men to lift football's ultimate prize as both a player and manager. While he failed to follow that up again in 2022, as France lost to Argentina in the World Cup final, Deschamps' ability to motivate his squad is clear to see.
The 55-year-old is set to stick around for a little while longer, yet, having signed a contract extension that will take him to World Cup 2026.

Kylian Mbappe
The France Euro 2024 squad does have some brilliant talent in every position, but no other player really comes close to main man Kylian Mbappe. One of the world's best players, the forward has now developed into a clear leader - so much so that Deschamps has even handed him the captaincy.
Realistically, if France are to lift the trophy in Berlin on July 14, Mbappe will have had a monumental impact on that result.

Squad sizes were initially increased at Euro 2020 as a special measure for the Covid-19 pandemic, but teams have now successfully argued 26-player squads should remain due to the strain of club schedules nowadays.
