France, England and Ireland all tipped to finish above defending champions Wales in 2022 Six Nations

Wales are predicted to finish fourth in the 2022 Six Nations, despite being the defending champions.

Wayne Pivac's side claimed the title in 2021, scoring a record number of points in a resounding victory over England and more tries in a single tournament than ever before.

They also had the best points difference and scored more tries than their rivals.

But that is not enough to convince the bookmakers that they are in pole position to do it again this coming season.

Instead, the bookies have France as favourites to win the tournament at 13/8.

Les Bleus finished second behind Wales last time out, blowing a chance to win it on the final night by losing to Scotland, having ended Wales' hopes of a Grand Slam a week earlier.

But Fabien Galthie's side will be a threat and have been heading in the right direction since the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

England are second favourites a 9/4 despite a shoddy showing last time out. In the 2021 instalment, Eddie Jones' side finished fifth in the table and ended up with a negative points difference.

And also predicted to finish above Wales are Ireland - at 9/2 - who produced a fairly average campaign last year, suffering defeats to Wales and France.

Wales come in to the reckoning at 11/2, with Scotland out at 10/1 and Italy massive outsiders at 1000/1.

Sky Bet's odds for the 2022 Six Nations

France 13/8, England 9/4, Ireland 9/2, Wales 11/2, Scotland 10/1, Italy 1,000/1.
