Former France assistant manager Pierre Mankowski has signed up as a football advisor at Lowland League side Caledonian Braves.
The former Lille boss was no. 2 to Raymond Domenech and Jacques Santini for Les Blues for over eight years as he worked alongside the likes of Patrick Viera, Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane.
Mankowski would then go on to work in the French youth set-up helping to develop talents including Paul Pogba, Samuel Umtiti and Kurt Zouma.
He would lift the under-20 World Cup with the talented group before leaving the set-up.
Now he has returned to the game with The Braves where he will provide "guidance and support to head coach Ricky Waddell", according to a club statement.
The tier five side started as Edusport Academy where they developed French footballers, before moving to a new stadium and re-branding as The Braves withing their new home at Alliance Park near Strathclyde Park.
Mankowski told the club website: “I have become friends with Chris Ewing (owner) through football.
"He spoke to me about Edusport Academy when it was at a very early stage and it is very impressive to see how it has grown and developed.
“Chris is ambitious and has created a unique football club. It is a very interesting project and I am excited to be part of it.
"I met Ricky Waddell when visiting the academy and like his style of coaching. When Chris asked if I would advise Ricky, sharing my football experience, I was delighted to come on board.”
