Frail Phil Collins, 70, performs in a chair as Genesis take to the stage in Scotland

Phil Collins delighted his fans once again during his current UK tour, performing on stage in Glasgow from a chair on Thursday.

The legendary rocker, who recently revealed he is no longer able to play the drums due to health issues, is currently touring the country with his band Genesis on their The Last Domino Tour.

During his most recent gig in Scotland, 70-year-old singer belted out some of his best-loved hits as he sat in a black leather chair for the performance.

Last month, the star was pictured being moved in a wheelchair outside a gig in Leeds ahead of the band's appearance at Leeds Arena, where he also remained seated throughout the show.

Phil, who is father to actress Lily Collins, has concerned fans of late due to his physical health problems and frail appearance.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Oscar winner opened up about his battles and revealed that his current tour will probably be the last time fans will be able to see him perform live.

The dad-of-five has been plagued with ill health over the past 15 years, with the star suffering an injured vertebrae in his upper neck which has led to crippling nerve damage.

Chatting on BBC Breakfast back in September, the drummer admitted that his ability to perform has been restricted due to his health woes and he finds the challenges that come with his illnesses "frustrating".

Speaking on the early morning broadcast, Phil said: "I’m kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there with my son.”

He was then asked: “Are you able to do any drumming at all these days?”

He replied: “No. No, I would love to but, you know, I mean I can barely hold a stick with this hand, so there are certain physical things that get in the way.”

The In the Air Tonight singer was then asked if he was 'putting it to bed' regarding his current tour.

"We're all men of our age, and I think to some extent, I think it probably is putting it to bed," Phil replied.

"I think yeah, I think just generally for me, I don't know if I want to go out on the road any more."

Back in April 2009, Phil had surgery to repair dislocated vertebrae in his upper neck caused by drumming on the 2007 Genesis tour.

The procedure caused the artist to lose feeling in his fingers and he could only hold drum sticks if they were taped to his hands.

In 2014, award-winning singer then revealed he still could not properly play the drums due to an undiagnosed nerve problem rather than arthritis.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner underwent an operation on his spine in 2015 and announced that he was still unable to drum with his left hand the following year.

In 2019, Phil and bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks announced that Genesis had reunited for a 2020 tour of the UK and Ireland, entitled The Last Domino?

The band also revealed that Phil's son Nic would be his father’s stand-in on drums for the tour.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the reunion tour was moved from spring to autumn 2021.
