Concerns have been raised over a new cycle track in a southside suburb after an 85-year-old woman broke her shoulder and pelvis in a horror incident.
The elderly resident tripped and fell over a new kerb that separates a cycle track from the road on the Main Street of Dundrum.
She took the horrendous tumble while coming out of mass which caused serious injuries to the old age pensioner.
The council recently installed a one-way traffic system for the cycle lane from Sandyford Road and also widened the streets for local businesses taking into account chairs and tables for outdoor customers.

But the kerb was too high for her as she crossed the road from the Holy Cross Church, with only her walking stick preventing her from breaking her hip as well.
A spokesman for Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council said: “We have carried out temporary mobility and public realm interventions in Dundrum Village in response to Covid-19 to provide additional space for physical distancing, safer walking and cycling facilities and to also reallocate space to support local businesses.
“Designated crossing points are located on Main Street and Sandyford Road for crossing the street in the village."
He added: "The interventions are subject to ongoing review and evaluation and we will examine the safety issues raised and carry out modifications, where necessary."
