FOX viciously trolls Northwestern during blowout loss to Ohio State

Ohio State’s Friday night road game against Northwestern looked like it might not be an ugly matchup in the first quarter because 15 minutes in, the Buckeyes only had a 7-3 lead.

But that didn’t last long. Ohio State put up 24 unanswered points in the second quarter on its way to a dominant 52-3 win over the Wildcats.

It was a rough night for Northwestern in front of the home crowd at Ryan Field, and college football Twitter had no trouble making jokes about coach Pat Fitzgerald and his team. But even FOX’s college football account chimed in with a brutal one toward the end of the lopsided game.

Yes, first-year Ohio State coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes owned the Wildcats in their Week 8 game, but photoshopping “Day” where it usually just reads “Ryan Field” is vicious.

In a rematch of the 2018 Big Ten championship game — which still ended in Ohio State’s favor but with a much more respectable score — Northwestern could not have looked worse while the Buckeyes remained undefeated this season.

Ouch. The Buckeyes are now 7-0, while Northwestern fell to 1-5 with only a win against UNLV.
