Fox spotted exploring Edinburgh Waverley as passengers stay away during COVID-19 lockdown

With less of us humans out and about at present there's some suggestion that we're seeing more and more wildlife venturing out and exploring where they normally wouldn't.

Now, living in Edinburgh the sight of a fox roaming the streets, or checking out the bins, late at night isn't too uncommon.

However it's rare you see the little animals roaming Edinburgh Waverley, especially given how busy the place normally is.

This morning ScotRail shared a photo of an early morning visitor to the station – climbing the steps at platform ten.

They posted on social media to say that one of their drivers, Carlos, spotted the fox in the station shortly before 6am today (Saturday), joking that "he was clearly on essential business".

Edinburgh Live reported last month how a heartwarming video showed a friendly fox eating out of a man's hand on the city's Broughton Road.

We want to know if you've seen any of these little foxes where you are, and if you've noticed a difference since lockdown was introduced and people were ordered to remain indoors.
