You can probably guess which two Buckeye players Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt has listed in his top eight of the 2019 NFL Draft, that’s not the story here. The real story is that there are two of them top eight, especially with all the recent news surrounding the potential slide of Dwayne Haskins.
And just so we’re clear — that would be the top eight of all players in the 2019 NFL Draft. So let’s just get it out there now. It’s Nick Bosa and Dwayne Haskins.
Klatt has Nick Bosa being the No. 1 overall rated player on the board. He’ll likely be taken somewhere in the top three. It’s almost a lock. Klatt then has quarterback Dwayne Haskins as the eighth best player. Who takes him when and where though has been a subject of much speculation.
Of course it goes without saying that a stack ranking of players doesn’t always add up to where they will be picked. You have to marry need, availability and pressures from the inside and outside into the equation.
For that reason, all these Mock projections seem to get blown up once the real thing starts to take shape, and we’ll be watching just like the rest of you to see where all the Ohio State players get taken.
But for now, this is some good recognition for two of the best coming out of Columbus.
