Fox explores empty Edinburgh Waverley station during lockdown

A fox has been seen roaming the platforms of Edinburgh Waverley station during lockdown.

ScotRail has shared pictures of the early morning visitor, climbing the steps to platform ten at the usually busy station.

A train driver, Carlos, spotted the fox in the station shortly before 6am this morning.

He joked: “he was clearly on essential business".

It comes as more and more wildlife have been spotted venturing onto the empty city streets while the country is under coronavirus lockdown rules.

Many have spotted foxes venturing further and further into the urban areas, roaming the streets, or checking out the bins.
