Fox calls Ohio for Bush

Fox News has called Ohio for Bush, with the President's lead there 4% - regarded as insurmountable. Assuming this is correct - and the BBC concurs - then Bush has won his second term.

Some of my correspondents point out there are a lot of votes still to count, and those votes come from big Democratic areas, and there are lots of provisional ballots (also more likely to be Democratic) to count, as well. But that big lead means Kerry would need an overwhelming victory from the remaining votes. That seems very unlikely.

"Bush four electoral votes from victory" is how the Fox News website hails the news. Meanwhile the Littlegreenfootballs weblog plays host to one of the Republicans' online parties.
