Fourth male charged over alleged armed brawl at Tuggerah

A fourth man has been arrested in relation to an armed brawl involving baseball bats and machetes on the Central Coast last week.

A group of teenage boys were approached by another group of males - allegedly armed with baseball bats and machetes - outside a shopping centre on Bryant Drive, Tuggerah about 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 1, according to police.

Police further allege the armed group chased the others before a brawl broke out. It's unknown if anyone was injured in the incident.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended shortly after and both groups dispersed.

Six teenage boys were arrested at the time and released pending further inquiries.

Two 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old teenage boy were arrested and charged earlier this week. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Charmhaven about 10.50am on Friday.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on October 7.

Investigations are continuing. Anyone with information which may assist police is urged to come forward.
