A recent study suggests that there is a significant benefit to having a fourth Covid-19 jab.
The level of protection people have and retain after vaccinations for Covid-19 are continuing to be monitored.
Researchers at the University of Southampton have been tracking a group of people to check the measure of antibodies and T cells, both of which indicate the level to which a person is protected against a virus.

The CovBoost trial also examined side-effects after a fourth jab.
A total of 166 people took part in the study and offered blood samples. Scientists then examined the concentration of antibodies in the blood at various time points.
Readings were taken at 28 days after the third jab and before their fourth boost was administered – which took place, on average, just over 200 days later, and then 14 days after they had their fourth jab.
The data collected showed that the levels of antibodies reduced in the period between third jabs and fourth boosters.
Two weeks after the booster, levels rose higher than the levels seen after the third jab.
