Fourth coronavirus patient dies in the UK

A fourth coronavirus patient has died in the UK .

The announcement was made on Monday afternoon as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 46 to 319.

The person was in their 70s and was being treated for an underlying health condition

A spokesperson for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust said: "The trust can confirm that a patient in their 70s being treated for underlying health conditions has died. The patient had tested positive for Covid-19.

The family has been informed and our condolences and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"We will not be commenting further and ask that everybody respects the family’s privacy."

There are currently six cases of coronavirus in Wales after two more were confirmed on Monday.

One patient is a resident in Neath Port Talbot and has recently returned from southern Italy.

The second patient is a resident in the Newport local authority area and has recently returned from northern Italy, Public Health Wales confirmed.

Both patients are being managed in "clinically-appropriate settings".
