A family who held a reunion after months of lockdown are devastated after 14 were diagnosed with coronavirus and one died.
On top of that, another family member is fighting for his life on a ventilator after the gathering, which at a home in Texas.
Former 'Covid-denier' Tony Green, who hosted the reunion, said no one felt ill at the time, but family members - including himself - began to get sick in the days after.
He admitted thinking the virus was a hoax aimed at toppling Donald Trump.
But now his father-in-law is fighting for his life, and his partner's grandmother died after contracting the virus.
In a blog post he wrote that he thought the virus was a conspiracy, and now regrets his actions.
He wrote: "I admit I voted for Donald Trump in 2016.
"I admit traveling deep into the conspiracy trap over COVID-19.
"All the defiant behavior of Trump’s more radical and rowdy cult followers, I participated in it. I was a hard-a** that stood up for my 'God-given rights.'"
He told KDFI that he and his wife had held the get together and invited both their parents over.
A 68-year-old woman died and Mr Green's father-in-law, Rafael Ceja, is being treated in hospital.
Mr Ceja's wife Marisa rang him "crying and screaming in terror" because he was on life support, he said.
Mr Green said: “Everyone has reassured me that it’s not my fault, but it’s my home.
“I feel like I’m the host, and even though we don’t know who had what, it spread because I had this idea to get together."
Mr Green himself spent three days at the Medical City Dallas being treated for Covid-19, which attacked his nervous system.
