Police on the South Coast are investigating the deaths of 14 kangaroos, including two joeys, which officers believe to have been deliberately killed.
Officers were called to the Long Beach area, in Batemans Bay, just after 7am on Saturday.
They, together with WIRES personnel, found five adult kangaroos and one joey dead on Blairs Road and Sandy Place.
"Police have since been notified a further seven kangaroos and one joey were found dead in the Maloneys Beach area," NSW Police said in a statement on Saturday night.
"They have since been removed and initial inquiries suggest they may have been deliberately killed."
Police say they have already spoken to multiple witnesses, with officers examining CCTV from the areas.
As part of the investigation, police want to identify the drivers of two white four-wheel drive utilities.
These cars were seen in the areas of Blairs Road and Sandy Place, at Long Beach, and Maloneys Drive and Hibiscus Close, at Maloneys Beach, between 10pm on Friday and 12.30am on Saturday.
