Fourteen dogs rescued during Scots drug raid which uncovered cannabis

A man has been arrested in connection with a Scots drug raid which involved rescuing 14 dogs.

Police stormed an Ayrshire property yesterday at around 9.30am and discovered the animals along with a cannabis stash.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences.

He was released on an undertaking to appear before Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.

It comes after cops and the Scottish SPCA searched the address in Logan Gate Terrace, Logan as part of a major investigation.

A separate report will be submitted by the Scottish SPCA in relation to the rescued dogs in due course.

Inspector Julie McLeish of Cumnock Police Office said: “This operation was the result of a well-planned and coordinated approach between the SSPCA and Police Scotland which has led to a number of dogs being rescued, as well as disrupting further drug supply and the impact it can have within the local community.

“I would like to thank the SSPCA for their hard work and continued partnership with Ayrshire Police Division.

“If you have any information on those that deal drugs within the community contact your local policing team by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
