Four-year-old suffers broken leg after being struck by car in Paisley

A four-year-old boy has suffered a broken leg after being struck by a car in Paisley.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident on Gallow Green Road on Thursday evening.

The youngster is being treated at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for his injuries, police have confirmed.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: " Around 5.20 pm on Thursday, 24 October, 2019 police were called to a report of a 4-year-old boy having been struck by a vehicle on Gallow Green Road, Paisley.

"Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children to be treated for his injuries.

"A 40 year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences and report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
