Four-year-old 'missing' boy sparks large police hunt but is found - hiding at home

A four-year-old boy who sparked a large police hunt after being reported missing was found - hiding at home.

Merseyside Police received a report at 6pm that a child was missing.

Officers were called to the scene in Fazakerley and one witness told the ECHO she saw eight police cars.

The witness said: "There are eight police cars at the scene and more looking for him.

"I have had to move on to my work as I’m a carer but I am looking in gardens."

However the force incident manager at Merseyside Police confirmed the four-year-old boy had been located.

The spokesman said: "A call came in at 18.03pm to report a four-year-old missing boy.

"The child was located at his home address in Kinross Road.

"The child had been hiding."

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police confirmed the child was found "safe and well".
