Four-year-old girl with cancer tearfully reunites with father after seven weeks apart in lockdown

A four-year-old girl battling a rare form of leukaemia has been reunited with her dad after seven weeks apart in lockdown.

For almost two months, Mila Sneddon has only been able to see her dad Scott through the kitchen window every day as he had to keep going to work during the coronavirus outbreak.

Scott made the difficult decision to protect his daughter from the risk of infection by moving out.

But after Scott was furloughed by his employer, he was given the all-clear to move back home after a period of self-isolation.

ITV News captured the moment the pair were tearfully reunited.

Mila thought her dad was making his usual visit to the house to catch up through the kitchen window, but Scott surprised Mila by walking through the door.

The video shows Mila leaping into her dad's arms, laughing excitedly before being overcome with emotion.

It has been a tough time for Mila, who also lost her great-grandmother after testing positive for coronavirus.

But she has had support from Ant and Dec, who sent a video in March urging people to stay inside and to do it for Mila.

And on Wednesday, the pair sent a message to the family inviting them to a live show when the pandemic is over.

Mila signed off the ITV News clip by thanking everybody who has stayed at home during the virus outbreak.
