Four-year-old girl knocked down and injured in Lochwinnoch

A four-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after she was hit by a car in Lochwinnoch last night.

The youngster was knocked down close to a park in Lochlip Road, at around 6.30pm.

Police closed the road as a Scottish Ambulance Service trauma team treated the child before rushing her to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

She suffered grazes and a cut to the head, which needed stitches.

It's understood cops are treating the incident as an accident.
