A case was registered against the suspects under IPC Section 392 (robbery) at the Surajpur police station.

Police said, two of the robbers received bullet injuries in their legs and two country-made pistold were recovered from them.

According to the police, the accused were identified as Rohit alias Amrish Kumar (20), Brijesh (21), both are natives of Hapur; Yogesh Chaudhary alias Bunty (23), a resident of Amroha, and Kapil (24), who is from Meerut.

Elamaran G, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) (Noida central), said that the Surajpur police received information about the movement of some suspects near Tilapta roundabout in Greater Noida. “A police team reached the spot and during checking, police signalled them to stop but they took a U-turn and when our team started to follow them, they fired at them,” he added.

The police also opened fire in self defence in which two suspects — Amrish and Yogesh — received bullet injuries in their legs and they were arrested.

Police said that two other accomplices managed to escape from the spot, however, the police launched a combing exercise and soon arrested them. A fresh case has been registered against the accused under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.
