Four-vehicle crash sees long delays on A38 Bridgwater Road on way to Bristol Airport

Four people had to be treated by paramedics after three vehicles collided with a stationary HGV.

Emergency services are diverting traffic away from the crash, which occurred on one of the main routes to Bristol Airport.

There are severe delays on the A38 Bridgwater Road following the smash, which happened near its junction with South Bristol Link Road

It is understood no one was seriously injured during the collision.

What emergency services have said

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said crews from Temple, Bedminster and Avonmouth attended the incident.

He said: "No one was trapped in their vehicles. Crews made sure vehicles were safe and washed away fuel following a spillage."

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A38 Bridgwater Road partially blocked, very slow traffic due to accident, four vehicles involved between A4174 South Bristol Link Road (Bishopsworth) and B3130 Barrow Street (Barrow Gurney).

“Police are directing traffic past the scene near the petrol station.”
