Four transfer targets Leeds United are tipped to want by bookmakers

Leeds United’s inaugural season under Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t quite gone perfectly, with the Whites agonisingly missing out on automatic promotion.

That leaves Leeds needing to navigate the tricky route through the play-offs if they are to seek a return to the top-flight for the first time in 15 years, but it will not be the only thing on the club’s mind over the course of the next month.

As we edge into May, it is now just four weeks until the summer transfer window opens and a frenzy of activity will follow, with Leeds set to get involved in the drama, with potential arrivals and departures on the cards.

Of course, United's activity in the market will be directly linked to what division they will be playing in next season, but that has not stopped the speculation and, using BetVictor, we have identified who they believe the four most likely additions for Bielsa are during the close season.

Nick Pope - Burnley (6/1)

One of three England international goalkeepers on the books at Turf Moor, something has to give at Burnley this summer and Nick Pope seems to be the most likely candidate on the move when the window opens. The Leeds link is an interesting one as the club signed Kiko Casilla in January, so it is not directly clear how the two would fit.

Mason Mount - Chelsea (10/1)

The Chelsea man has been a sensation on loan with Derby County this season, but his future remains under speculation as the Blues are hardly renowned from putting their faith in young talent. Another loan next season seems likely, most probably to a Premier League side or another top-end Championship outfit and Leeds will hope they begin the campaign as the former.

Aaron Mooy - Huddersfield Town (16/1)

A bright spark in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Huddersfield Town, Aaron Mooy is another potential addition that seems heavily likely to hinge on whether the Whites are playing in the top-flight next season. If they are not, then it is difficult to see the Australia international moving across Yorkshire to Elland Road.

Mohamed Diame - Newcastle United (20/1)

The 31-year-old midfielder sees his contract with Newcastle United expire at the end of June, but the Senegal international may well remain in English football, with Leeds among the clubs touted for his signature. With vast experience of the Premier League, Diame could go down swimmingly at Elland Road.
