Four top Scots chippies feature in Fish & Chips Staycation Guide

A new guide has been launched to help people across the UK combine their holidays in Britain with the nation’s favourite takeaway – fish and chips.

The ‘Fish and Chips Staycation Guide’, which has been created by food and catering specialists JJ Foodservice, features 30 fish and chip shops from all over the UK located near outstanding views and popular tourist attractions.

Four of the enticing entries can be found in Scotland, with some of the country's top chippies featured.

These include Frankie's in Shetland - the UK's most northerly chippie - which is cited for its breathtaking views of the sea, and The Quayside in Gourdon, which is located close to the beautiful St Cyrus Beach.

The Real Food Café at Tyndrum, which is located in some of Scotland's most stunning scenery, and the Redcloak fish bar in Stonehaven, where you can eat your fish supper while exploring this picturesque town's beautiful harbour, are also included.

JJ’s Head of Communications, Elit Rowland, said: “We want to make it easy for people to find the best places to visit while enjoying traditional British fish and chips.

“From beautiful bays and harbours to historic monuments and museums – we’ve located a chippy nearby!”

Sarah Heward, co-owner of The Real Food Cafe added: “There are so many fantastic fish and chip shops in the UK.

"As we come out of the pandemic, it is crucial to support these businesses, many of which are family-owned and rely entirely on tourism.”
