Four thugs armed with a 'suspected gun' and knife storm a house and steal cash

Four thugs armed with a suspected gun and a knife stormed a house in Swinton.

The men forced their way into a property on Partington Lane at around 11.15pm on Thursday night (August 20).

They were armed with a knife and a suspected firearm, police said.

The gang stole money from inside before running from the scene.

No-one was injured in the incident.

A police cordon remains in place this morning, with Partington Lane taped off at the junction with Harrowby Road.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Shortly after 11.30pm on Thursday 20 August 2020, police were called to reports of an aggravated burglary at an address on Partington Lane in Swinton.

"Four men, armed with a knife and suspected firearm, forced entry to the property at around 11.15pm before fleeing on foot.

"A quantity of money was stolen and thankfully no-one was injured.

"A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing."
