Four things spotted in Liverpool training as Thiago Alcantara doubt raised and new goalkeeper added

Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend against Watford.

Despite a number of players still being away on international duty, those who have not traveled or no longer represent their country have been preparing for Saturday's trip to Hertfordshire.

Jurgen Klopp's side played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester City last time out in the league and will be eager to collect all three point on this occasion.

Here are four things we spotted from Liverpool's Tuesday training session.

Trent returns

A sight many Liverpool fans will be pleased to see.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in first-team training for the Reds and is now in line to make his return when Liverpool take on Watford this weekend.

The 23-year-old missed recent matches with Porto and Manchester City, with James Milner covering in his absence.

Chance to impress

Polish goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek trained with the first-team today.

The 18-year-old was present alongside Adrian and Marcelo Pitaluga ahead of Saturday's contest at Vicarage Road.

Mrozek joined the Reds in August 2020 and made his debut for the under-18s last campaign.

He signed his first professional contract at the club in July.

No sign of Thiago

Thiago Alcantara did not feature in any of the images that emerged from the Reds' training session.

Injured in Liverpool's home win over Crystal Palace, Klopp said the Spaniard would 'probably' be back after the international break.

It appears as though supporters may have to wait a little longer to see the silky midfielder back out on the pitch, however.

Central defence department well-stocked

Unlike last season, Liverpool currently have a number of options in central defence.

Ibrahima Konate Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Nat Phillips were all in attendance at the AXA Training Centre.

Virgil van Dijk was not present, having captained the Netherlands to wins over Latvia and Gibraltar in recent days.
