Four teens in Scots horror smash with two girls, 14, seriously injured after police chase

Four teenagers are in hospital after a police chase ended in a horror crash on a Scots road.

The four youths, two 14-year-old girls and two boys aged 14 and 16, were the only people in the orange Vauxhall Corsa that failed to stop for officers on the A90 between Dundee and Perth at around 1.55pm yesterday.

Officers from Police Scotland gave chase to the hatchback which later crashed on the A90 near St Madoes.

Ambulances rushed the four teenagers to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

The two girls are said to have 'serious injuries' while the boys have been treated for minor injuries.

We told yesterday how parts of the major route were closed as the incident was investigated.

It reopened shortly after 11pm following a probe of the scene.

Cops are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Michelle Burns said: "Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have seen the Vauxhall Corsa or the police vehicles in Perth, on the A912 through Bridge of Earn or on the A90 are asked to come forward.

"We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage.

"Any information can be passed to police by calling 101, quoting incident 2040 of 20 February."
