Four teens charged after leading Gardai on huge dangerous Dublin chase following car theft

Four teens have been charged after leading Gardai on a dangerous early morning chase where they headed towards Dublin to flee from the cops.

The four boys were arrested at around 2:40am yesterday morning following the theft of a car in Celbridge.

Officers said they responded to an interference call after a car was spotted "driving erratically".

The car failed to stop for Gardaí when signalled and took off in the direction of Dublin.

Gardai then set off on a contained pursuit for the boys involving units from Meath and Dublin as well as the Regional Support Unit and the Air Support Unit.

A vehicle 'stinger' device was used to stop the stolen car on the M3 motorway near Batterstown on the R154.

The four teens were arrested and taken to Naas Garda Station where they were later charged.

Two of the teens are due to appear before the Children’s Court and two are due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court.
