Four teenagers injured after 'brawl' at Glasgow school football pitch

Four teenagers have been injured after being beaten during an early evening disturbance at a Glasgow school's football pitch.

Police are appealing for information after the serious assaults at the John Paul Academy football park, Arrochar Street, in the Summerston area of the city, on Friday.

Two of the males, both aged 18, were taken to hospital to be treated with facial injuries after the attacks at around 6.40pm.

The other two, both aged 19, were also said to be injured but did not need hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Peter Lagan, of Maryhill Police Station, urged any witnesses to come forward.

He said: “Four people were injured during this incident, two of whom required hospital treatment, and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“There were a number of people around at the time and I would ask anyone who has yet not spoken to officers to get in touch.

“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3229 of Friday, 16 April, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
