Four taken to hospital with head injuries after man wees on boat from bridge

Four people were injured, one seriously, when a man urinated on their boat from a bridge.

The pleasure boat passengers jumped up from their seats and cut their heads on the low-level Jannowitz bridge, in Berlin, Germany, during the incident.

Police described the culprit's behaviour as 'abnormal' and officers are now trying to find him, following the assault on Friday night.

Three of the injured passengers were women, aged 38, 39 and 48, while a 54-year-old man was also hurt.

The fire service sent 16 rescue workers to the River Spree to help the passengers, Berliner Zeitung reports.

Some readers joked about the story, although others raised legitimate safety concerns.

Cliff Burns tweeted: "Now, see, I loathe tourists too, but this is going too far."

However, David Fox wrote: "Should surely have been anticipated in their risk assessment."

Some of the most popular methods for fighting the urge to wee include distracting yourself, moving around and avoiding all liquids.

Distraction techniques can include listening to music or speaking to someone.

Changing positions may also help stave off the need to urinate, particularly if it takes pressure off your stomach and bladder.

Removing drinks from your view can also help - as these remind you that you want to urinate.

However, doctors advise people not to hold in urine for too long as it can have an adverse impact on your health.
