It was said to be linked to Operation Venetic - the national investigation into information obtained from the communications platform EncroChat.

Around £20,000 in cash was seized along with "a substantial amount of high value goods" in the raids.

The NWROCU said four people had now been charged in connection with the investigation.

John Porter, aged 41 of Altcar Lane, Maghull was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, conspiracy to commit arson, conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and money laundering.

James Cook, 39, of Mereview Crescent, Croxteth, Paul Cook, 35, of Marford Road, West Derby and Marco Dylan, 44, of Sonning Avenue, Bootle were all charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering.

They were remanded into custody and were due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning.
